The C 1 ‐building block CO 2 can add via CC coupling to the Fe 0 complex 1 , LMe 3 . The carboxylate complex 2 that is formed thereby is very stable and exhibits dynamic behavior in solution. 2 reacts with FeCl 3 to give the linear, doubly saturated α,ω‐dicarboxylic acid 3 .
