The first Dewar phosphabenzenes , which at the same time contain the first four‐membered ring with a PC double bond, namely the title compounds 1 , are surprisingly stable towards heat and oxygen. 1 , R 1 =Me, R 2 =1‐adamantyl, has been characterized by an X‐ray structure analysis.
