The regioselective synthesis of substituted 1,5‐diazocin‐2(1 H )‐ones 3 has been achieved for the first time by reaction of the azabutadienes 1 with dichlorosilanes to give 2 , which are then allowed to react with esters of acetylene dicarboxylic acid (E = CO 2 R 3 ).
