The “animal alkaloids” 1 , RH, CO 2 H, can be detected in rats after intravenous administration of therapeutically common doses of vitamin B 6 (pyridoxine) and L‐dopa. To accomplish this, it was necessary to develop a method for the analysis of extremely polar substances.
