Selenoaldehydes and selenoketones in the coordination sphere of a transition metal are conveniently accessible synthetical building blocks. Thus, upon Diels‐Alder reaction with dimethylbutadiene and with cyclopentadiene, the complexes 1 , RH, Ph, yield the heterocycles 2 and 3 , respectively.
