The cover illustration of the superionic conductor Agl (green: Ag + ; red; I + ), shows just what a new computer program can accomplish: for the first time it is possible to make a combined representation of experimentally determided crystal structures and calculated periodic potential surfaces for various space group symetries. Especially informative is the reproduction of the zero‐potential surfaces, for their topology is apparently exploited by nature. Such calculated surfaces enable an interrelationship to be made between the structure and properties of cstals. Further details are reported by H. G. von Schnering et al. one page 110 ff.
