A novel ceramic electrode for redox catalysis was prepared from etched titanium sheet which was covered with a solution of titanium acetylacetonate in HNO 3 and heated at 450°C. Noteworthy are the current densities recorded (for example 5 A/dm 2 ) on such an activated electrode. This electrode has been used for the reduction of nitrobenzene.
