High activity and selectivity is exhibited by the FePd cluster 1 on SiO 2 in the reductive carbonylation of o ‐nitrophenol to benzoxazol‐2‐one. A conventional catalyst prepared from iron oxalate and palladium acetate is far less effective. The catalyst prepared from 1 retains its activity even after repeated use.
