Two RuCo 3 tetrahedra, which are joined by a Hg 2+ ion , are present in the sandwich complex 1. The complex 1 is formed—along with HgBr 2 —in the disproportionation of BrHg[RuCo 3 (CO) 12 ]; crystals suitable for an X‐ray structure analysis are obtained directly.
