The stabilization of p ‐quinodimethanes can be achieved by complexation. According to an X‐ray structure analysis the two Fe(CO) 3 units in 1 , RCH 3 , are located on different sides of the slightly puckered six membered ring. The ligand in 1 formally contains two trimethylenemethane moieties.
