The fragmentation of an alkenyl ketone ligand into an alkyne‐and methyl‐or acetylligand is surprisingly achieved in the reaction of CpW(CO) 2 CHCHCOCH 3 with nitrogen monoxide. NO provides its oxygen for the formation of an oxoligand.
