The cover page shows polycrystalline crusts of glycine. The tendency of leucine to orient floating glycine crystals at the interface, and the subsequent enantioselective adsorption at the face exposed to the solution have been exploited for the separation of racemic amino acids into enantiomers. Numerous other applications of tailored inhibitors for the control of growth and dissolution of organic crystals are described by a research group from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot (Israel) in a review on p. 466ff.
