Octabisvalene, (CH) 8 , which still unknown, is the third saturated and highly strained valence isomer of cyclooctatetrane. The first crystalline derivative 1 , X = SO 2 C 6 H 5 , has been synthesized from cis ‐benzenetrioxide. 1 is stable up to ca. 200°C.
