The tantalum complex 1 is conformationally very flexible; an inversion of the five‐membered TaS 2 C 2 chelate ring takes place. The structure of 1 can be explained on the basis of MO considerations. Transition‐metal thiolate complexes are interesting because of their biological and catalytic significance.
