The first dimeric lithium alkylideneamide with a μ 2 ‐nitrogen ligand and resulting Li 2 N 2 ring is the solvent‐stabilized title compound 1 . The ring is exactly planar. Both the dimer 1 and the monomer are present in aromatic solvents, as was confirmed by cryoscopic M r determinations in combination with high‐field 1 H‐ and 7 Li‐NMR measurements.
