Owing to the (Me 3 Si) 3 C group, the iminoborane 4 is stable for months at room temperature . The synthesis of 4 is achieved by reaction of the aminoborane 1 with tris(trimethylsilyl)methyllithium 2; the substitution product 3 eliminates Me 3 SiF above 60°C to give 4, which is polar according to its NMR spectrum.
