“In‐out”‐Isomeric Large Cavities and Their Differing Guest Selectivity

The host molecule 1 has a tailor‐made cavity for spherically shaped organic compounds such as adamantane. Thus, it has been possible for the first time to dissolve adamantane via complexation in aqueous medium. The isomeric “out‐in” compound, with a smaller cavity, cannot do this.
