The stabilization of the radical cation 1 , with a three‐electron bond, is reminescent of the Wittig and Stevens rearrangements. In the rearrangement of 1 to EtSSEt, H⊕ and H are formally split off. This reaction takes place only for high concentrations of 1 ; it is noteworthy that oxygen doesn't affect the yield.
