The chelate complex 3 containing a novel C 2 N 2 SPt heterocycle is formed by insertion of Pt at the SN bond of the dinitrile 1 on reaction with the complex 2 . Complexes such as 3 deserve attention, since coordination compounds of platinum find application in homogeneous catalysis and cancer therapy.
