The same P atom bonding pattern as in phosphabenzene is found in the 1 H ‐1,2,4‐diazaphospholes 1. It is therefore not surprising that 1 can be prepared in a two‐step synthesis, the first step of which is reminiscent of the classical phosphabenzene synthesis.
