Nucleophilic substitutions of thiazyl fluoride (NSF) should afford access to thiazyl derivatives RSN. On reaction of NSF with LiOCMe 3 , the primary product “LiNS(F)OCMe 3 ” could be trapped for the first time as the double cluster 1 and subsequently characterized. A molar ratio of NSF: nucleophile of 1:1 is essential for the formation of 1 .
