The first X‐ray structure analysis of a lanthanoid‐phosphorus ylide complex has been carried out on the lutetium derivative 1 . Compound 1 , which is extremely sensitive to air and moisture, was synthesized from (C 5 Me 5 ) 2 LuCl 2 Na(Et 2 O) 2 and Li(CH 2 ) 2 P(CH 3 ) 2 .
