A new method for dehydrogenation of functionalized alcohols 1 , ZCO 2 ‐alkyl or CN, is their Ru‐catalyzed reaction with tBuOOH. The reaction proceeds under extremely mild conditions; for 1, R(E)‐PhCHCH, the double bond is not epoxidized.
