A carbene‐ or nitrene‐analogous boron species , the title compound 1 , was generated by photolysis of RB(SiPh 3 ) 2 or B(SiPh 3 ) 3 and detected by trapping reactions. 1 inserts into CH and CO bonds and cycloadds to CC bonds to yield borirenes such as 2 .
