The title compound, CuCo(CO) 4 , is a novel member of the E[Co(CO) 4 ] n series of complexes. Its tetrameric structure with cyclic Cu 4 Co 4 framework and distorted tetrahedral arrangement of the CO groups around Co follows from an X‐ray structure analysis. By comparison with the homologous AgCo(CO) 4 , it can be estimated which effects are due to the difference in size of the Cu and Ag atoms.
