The preparation of the iodine‐substituted FeS cluster [Fe 6 S 6 I 6 ] 2⊖ 1 was carried out by heating stoichiometric amounts of Fe, S 8 , I 2 , and I ⊖ . 1 contains two Fe 3 S 3 six‐membered rings linked via six FeS bonds. The known clusters [Fe 2 S 2 I 4 ] 2⊖ and [Fe 4 S 4 I 4 ] 2⊖ were obtained analogously.
