A carbon‐sulfur triple bond is present in the title compound, which has been synthesized for the first time. The compound is a colorless gas which rapidly oligomerizes. The strong, very broad band in the IR gas spectrum at 1740 cm −1 can be unequivocally assigned to the CS bond.
