An extraordinary cation with eight Fe III centres is contained in the title compound. It has been characterized X‐ray crystallographically as the first Fe III ‐oligomer with more than three centres. Besides the strong bridging by oxo‐ and hydroxo‐groups the “hydrophobization” of the surface by the six amine ligands is worthy of note. In the crystal, seven of the eight Br ⊖ ions and a H 2 O molecule are associated with the cation—it can thus be regarded as a bromide‐ion bearing complex monocation.
