The title compound, which contains a highly polar π‐bonding system, has been synthesized via two routes , and must therefore by described by the two resonance structures (la) and (1b) . Above 0°C, (1) dimerizes with [2 + 2]‐cycloaddition to give the 1,2λ 3 ,3λ 5 ‐azadiphosphoridine (2) .
