With the crystal structure of phosphorus( III ) oxide P 4 O 6 the structures of all binary phosphorus oxides in the solid state are known. The series P 4 O 6+n ( n = 0–4) is suitable for studying the mutual influence of P III and P V on their bonding properties in practically unchanged environment.
