The in situ preparation of the extremely reactive 1,2,4‐triazoline‐3,5‐diones (1) proceeds advantageously via an electrosynthetic procedure from the corresponding saturated heterocycles. Furthermore, the hitherto incompletely characterized parent compound (1) R = H is accessible by this means.
