The absolute configuration of the phosphorus compounds (2) and (3) can be determined from the circular dichroism of their in situ complexes with the dimolybdenum compound (1) . The solvent is CF 3 CO 2 H or pyridine. In direct CD measurements—without (1) —the Cotton effect lies in a difficultly accessible wavelength region.
