What species are present in acid, aqueous, Mo IV ‐containing solutions? This long discussed question has now been answered in one case: In the presence of HF and NH 4 F the species (NH 4 ) 5 [Mo 3 O 4 F 9 ]·NH 4 F·H 2 O could be isolated.
