In order gain more knowledge about CoSi and CoGe bonding the optically active complexes (S) ‐ (1) (M Si or Ge and L CO, P(OPh) 3 , PPh 3 ) and (S) ‐ (2) (M Ge, L n BuC(OEt), containing these bonds have been synthesized and cleaved. The compounds (S) ‐ (1) react with 60–91% inversion and compounds (S) ‐ (2) with 55% retention.
