Reactions in presence of the low molecular weight, modifiable enzyme models (1) and (2) lead in some cases to surprising results. Thus, (1) inhibits the reaction of fluorodini‐trobenzene with N   3 ⊖ , whereas (2) accelerates this reaction, as well as that of methyl iodide with N   3 ⊖and the decomposition of erythro ‐ (3) .
