A new possibility for the study of metal‐induced coupling of organic substrates is afforded by the dimethylbutadiene‐methyl acrylate‐Fe(CO) 2 complex (1) , which has now been prepared for the first time. In presence of CO it forms (2) , the product of the photoaddition of dimethylbutadiene, methyl acrylate and Fe(CO) 5 . Reaction of (2) and CO leads, inter alia , to a cycloheptenone derivative; this reaction could be of preparative interest.
