The decomposition of carbon suboxide in the presence of two rhodium( I )‐complexes leads to CO and C 2 O. With (PPh 3 ) 3 RhCl, (1) and polymeric C 2 O are formed, with [(C 8 H 14 ) 2 RhCl] 2 the polymers (2) and cyclooctene. Pyridine can “dissolve” the Cl‐bridge in (2) ; a dimer is formed.
