The synthesis of the complex (1) , M = Pt, R = P( t Bu) 3 or P( c ‐C 6 H 11 ) 3 , is of interest in altering the position of equilibrium between allyl(hydrido) and olefin complexes, which could be a key step in selective hydrogenation reactions. The complexes (1) decompose above −30 °C with the formation of propene.
