The first unsubstituted amide of a hydroxylaminosulfonic acid , the title compound, has now been synthesized via the route given below. Its alkaline hydrolysis yields, as expected, sulfite, ammonia, and HNO (→ 1/2 N 2 O + 1/2 H 2 O).
