A radical mechanism for the fast cis‐trans isomerization of (1) is suggested by results obtained with the parent compound. By H abstraction ( e.g. from the solvent) it forms the (Me 3 Si) 2 CH ⊙ C(SiMe 3 ) 2 radical, detectable by ESR spectroscopy.
