A dimeric tin complex of highly unusual structure has been obtained as part of a program to synthesize biocidal tin compounds [eq. (1)]. Two ligands are normal chelating agents, and two form bridges; two η 6 ‐C 6 H 5 ‐Sn II interactions stabilize the dimer.
