The study of chiroptical properties is facilitated by the optically active 2,2′‐spirobiindanes, e.g. derivatives of (1) . (+)‐ (2) , accessible from (2 R )‐ (1) in a multistep synthesis, is highly promising owing to the mutually perpendicular naphthalene units.
