Stable heterocycles (1) with MnC σ‐bond —of significance for catalytic reactions—have been synthesized by reaction of manganese‐containing dianions and alkylenebis(triflates) (ZOSO 2 CF 3 ). Insertion of CO into the M—C bond of a metallacycloalkane has now be accomplished for the first time with (1) , XCH 2 CH 2 .
