The chemiluminescence of 1,2‐dioxetanes (1) has been examined with the aid of the title compound (2) , RR = (CH 2 ) 2 This hydrolysis‐sensitve model compound exhibits very weak emission of light on heating in the presence of dibromoanthracene, which could arise from the diradical (3) . It is deduced that 1,2‐dioxetanes (1) decompose mainly in a concerted manner.
