Caution should be exercised when dealing with the oxidizing agent [BzEt 3 N]MnO 4 ! An explosion occurred on drying of the crystalline compound at 80°C/1 torr during preparation of comparatively large amounts. Storage of this reagent is discouraged and it should not be heated above ambient temperature when drying in vacuo .
