The analogy between the isoelectronic groups Me 3 Si and Me 2 (H 3 B)P exists not only on paper. For example, the Me 3 SiCl analogue (1) is stable, distillable and relatively insensitive to moisture; on treatment with Ag 2 O it affords the air‐ and water‐stable compound (2) corresponding to disiloxane.
