“Oxidation state isomerism” exists between porphyrins which differ only in the localization of their electrons. Such a system is that of the title compound [Fe II (TBP + )(CO)(py)]⊕, in which one electron is removed from the porphyrin ring, and the corresponding (unknown) Fe III porphyrin.
