The first seleninato complex to be obtained by SeO 2 insertion is a brown solid that is stable for several days on exposure to air. It was characterized by its mass, 1 H‐NMR, and IR spectra (seleninato‐ Se type). SO 2 insertions into transition metal‐carbon bonds are known.
