In the cationic transition‐metal substituted phosphorus ylides (1a) and (1b) —arising from the carbonyl carbyne complexes and trimethylphosphane—the resonance structure shown below is expected to predominate according to spectroscopic findings. This result has now been confirmed by X‐ray structural analysis of (1b) .
