A new pyrimidine synthesis starts from phosgeniminium salts (1) which react in the presence of HCl even with non‐activated nitriles to give the novel salts (2) . On pyrolysis, compounds (2) yield the symmetrical dichlorodialkylaminopyrimidines (3) .
